Description
The Dum Adai is the baked wonder of Kayalpatnam! This soft delicacy can only be found in the Kayalpattinam, a small town in Thoothukudi.
Traditionally, the Dum Adai was part of sweetmeats offered from the bride's side to the groom at Muslim weddings. Recently, it has been made in bulk and served during tea time.
Only a few households in Kayalpattinam make this delicacy sold throughout the town.
Tempting ingredients like Coconut milk and Rosewater play an important role in Dum Adai preparation.
