How to Use
For use when: you’re experiencing oily skin, a shiny T-zone, clogged pores, and want to deep-cleanse your skin.
•Using fingers or a spatula, apply the mask to dry skin.
•Apply an even layer, making sure to avoid the eye area, hairline, eyebrows and lips.
•Leave on for up to 10 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.
•Use once or twice per week, or as needed.
Application tip! Never let your clay mask dry completely. If it does, the skin underneath dries out as well.
Multi-mask to target multiple skin concerns!
Optimals Purifying Clay Mask can also be combined with our Quenching Face Mask, in order to target multiple skin challenges at once. Multi-masking is a great solution when you want to address multiple skin concerns at the same time and involves applying each mask to different areas of the face at the same time.
For use when: You’re experiencing an oily T-Zone, but dry, flaky skin on your cheeks.
•Apply Optimals Purifying Clay Face Mask on your T-zone to deep cleanse and draw out impurities.
•Apply Optimals Moisture Quenching Face Mask on cheeks and neck to give dry, dull skin an ultra-hydrating boost.
•Leave both on for 10 minutes, then rinse off.
Alternately:
Use Optimals Purifying Clay Face Mask first and then Optimals Moisture Face Mask immediately afterwards to reap the full benefits of both masks.
Ingredients
Charcoal has long been celebrated for its purifying skin care benefits, especially when it comes to managing oily skin and blemishes. The charcoal in our Optimals Purifying Clay Face Mask is made from a very hard wood by way of a special burning technique. When the wood is burned, it forms micro pores on the surface of the charcoal particle, increasing the surface area. Higher surface area gives the charcoal its high adsorption power, which means that it can attract, trap, and adsorb (i.e. hold on to) other molecules. As such, the charcoal acts much like a magnet, drawing out and capturing impurities such as dirt, excess oil, or general daily grime from the surface of the skin – leaving skin looking and feeling purified and comfortable.
White Nettle Extract has long been used for its many medicinal benefits – in fact, the first use dates all the way back to the Middle Ages! The astringent agents in the mask come from saponosides in White Nettle, which have been shown to have astringent and decongesting benefits, and help to soothe, protect, and rebalance oily, blemish-prone skin. White Nettle is also rich in antioxidant compounds, including phenols, flavonoids, and tannins – not to mention its skin-soothing, microcirculation-boosting effects, that were used to promote a comfortable, even skin tone.
